About the Jaffrey Fire Department

The Jaffrey Fire Department is made up of a full-time Fire Chief and twenty five on-call members serving the town of Jaffrey, New Hampshire and the surrounding communities through a mutual aid agreement. Jaffrey Fire is dispatched from the Fire Mutual Aid Dispatch Center located in Keene, New Hampshire.  The department is led by a full-time Fire Chief, Asst. Fire Chief, two Captains and three Lieutenants. A detailed list of the members of the department can be found in the personnel section of this website.

Members of the department receive rigorous training to become members of the department and then participate in on-going training on a regular basis. The Jaffrey Fire Department requires all members to receive their Firefighter Level I certification before the end of their probation period.

In addition to responding to emergency calls, the Jaffrey Fire Department participates in fire prevention, community outreach, burn permitting and inspection activities. We provide fire prevention, suppression, rescue, EMS, public service and education. Click on CPR & First Aid for information on our public CPR classes.
